WhatsApp has been working on adding a number of features on to its platform. While some of these features are aimed at improving the ease of use, others are new features aimed to add new functionality to the app. Now report suggests that the Facebook-owned social messaging app has started rolling out some of these features on to the beat version of its app.

Hide mute status updates

WABetaInfo back in July this year reported that WhatsApp was working on a feature that would allow users to hide muted status updates in the app. Now the blog reports that the company has finally started rolling out this functionality on to its beta app. For those of you who aren’t sure how this will change your WhatsApp experience, here’s what will happen: up until now, muted stated updates showed up in grey in a separate section within the Status section of the app. Now, the muted status updates would remain completely hidden in the Muted Updates section of the Status tab. This feature is available on WhatsApp Beta for Android version 2.19.260.

Facebook Pay

Next up is the Facebook Pay feature. Facebook Pay is a new payment feature that is works according to the blog and this is the first time we are hearing about it. As per the report, Facebook Pay is a payment option which the company is developing for its family of apps which includes WhatsApp. The screenshot shared by the blog shows an option to add a new payment method in Facebook Pay. This feature is being developed for WhatsApp’s Android based platform. Beyond this, there is no information available about this feature so far.

Alignment Indicator

Lastly, WhatsApp is working on an alignment indicator fearture for iOS based devices. This feature will reportedly help users to accurately adjust text, emojis and stickers on photos, videos and GIFs. The blog reports that it is possible that this feature could be used for media posted as status updates as well. It is already available for download in the beta version of Apple’s iOS based app.
